Speaking of Katrina...

My favorite favorite favorite game right now is Flood It!. OBSESSED! At work, some may go take a walk, some may smoke, but when I want to take a break I go to the restroom and play Flood It!. Is that weird? I'll answer that for you... yes... yes that's very weird.

First: you choose which color scheme you'd like to play with

Then: you start playing
Then then: you try to make the screen one color

Luv it girl!

Oh... and don't get your undies in a bundle... My 'sister' and I single-handedly cleaned St. Bernard's Parish... kind of

The State Fair-est of them All

Well it is that time of year again... State Fair Time! The Fair always signifies the end of one season and the beginning of another and since it's typically the last really, ugly hot week of summer, you just can't help to go celebrate the end of heat and humidity with all the fried food and beer one can consume.

Now, I have had a particularly long love affair with the State Fair. My parents and I have gone every year since I was about 3 and once I hit the "why are you treating me like a child I am now a teeeeenager" years, my friends and I would hop on the bus at Southdale and ride in. We used to take the bus all over the place (Southdale, friend's houses, Uptown) before any of us could drive, but that was when there were more buses going through Edina and parents didn't overcrowd their kids' schedules with sports and clubs and camps and we were really left to be just kids. BUT, I digress...

This year, I'll be making at least 2-3 trips to the great Minnesota get together- sad... yes, but it's a tradition I have held onto for ump-teen years and REFUSE to let it go :) These are a few things that I am excited for:

Wait... that's terrifying.

It's the most wonderful tiiiiime of the year! Go here for more info:

I'll be there tomorrow night wearing something like this:

See ya there!

And I am really Lame-O!

So it's 5:20 and I'm sitting at my desk at work typing this blog because I am a total lame-o. Well... also because my adorable, little Winnie-baby decided to be a bitch (I can say that because she truly is a bitch in every sense of the word ;P) and chewed up the charger for my laptop. Either way my new one comes tomorrow, but for the past week or so, I have been living off of battery life that seems to dwindle faster than I can say boo. I have been limiting myself to sudden bursts of computer use that only include looking up things that I really need to know and unfortunately not blogging about recent accomplishments. Never fear! I have photo-documented everything and come tomorrow will be furiously blogging my head off.

Until then... I leave you with the exciting list of things that I WILL accomplish tonight:

Later gator!

And the winner is...

Yeah, I know... my last entry was during the finale and it's now almost a week later and I still haven't posted anything! You probably know who the winner is, BUT I choose to ignore this and will continue to go on as if it is Sunday night and the winner has just been revealed...

And the Winner is...

Aarti Sequeira!!! How exciting! I'm really interested to see what her POV will turn into now that she has her own show and is no longer in a competition. Also- I'm dying to see her Indian twists on American classics.

Aarti Party premiers this Sunday at 11am. My only gripe... I wish FN wouldn't have changed the name... Aarti Paarti is much more clever in my mind : )

The Next Food Network Star FINALE!!

Who do you think is going to win???

OH wait... they offed Brad for this tool:

I'm hoping for Arti (she's just too cute! plus I love her POV) ooooor Big Chef Tom (he's such a big, plaid wearing bear of a man that looks like he just ripped down a tree with his two hands and then came in to cook you a great meal... kind of hot...).

Well we're on the topic of FN (the only reason I CANNOT give up cable), the two women that I would "skin and wear like last years Versace" are:

Love, Love, LOVE! I'm still holding onto hope that Ina will be like an aunt to me and Giada my bff... here's hoping!

Joe

It's funny how with cancer, you watch your loved one slowly decline, gradually preparing you both for what is imminently ahead. It almost tricks you into thinking that it will be easier to say goodbye when the time comes. Last night, I learned again that this is not the case.

The world lost one of the greatest souls ever to walk this green earth and I lost my Uncle Joe. I already miss his laugh, the distinctive way he'd my name whenever I saw him "Triiiiish", the way he could tease you, yet always made sure you were in on the joke.

I remember one year at the Classic, I had forgotten shoes for Saturdays dinner and having just got my license, my mom gave me some cash and the keys and let me take the car to Marshall. I thought that I was big stuff driving back with the windows down, radio blaring and driving faster than fast. What do ya know... lights flash behind me and I'm issued a ticket for doing 70 in a 55. I had to tell my parents when I got back and apparently word got out because at the big dinner, in front of 170+ family, Joe was doing his welcome speech when he paused. "So, I hear we've got a Mario Andretti in the family." I looked around thinking that someone had decided to become a professional racecar driver or something when I heard, "Trish! Stand on up!" The cat (or my lead foot) was out of the bag. The room was hootin' and hollerin' and it may sound weird, but it made me feel special. Joe had a knack for that. No matter the size of the crowd or what occasion it may be, he knew how to include everybody. He could make the young shy kid feel like the star, even if just for a moment. He touched everybody.

I miss you dearly, Joe and will love you forever.

I am a Ninja Turtle Wap... This is my fuuuuel

Well I'm pretty sure that my cheeks still hurt from this weekend. The weather was wonderful, offering up both sun and stormy fun. We had a great time with great food made by our personal chefs and more laughs than can be remembered (thanks in part to the Ninja Turtle Wap... what? You've never heard of Ninja Turtle Wap? Get in the know...). I'm super tech-challenged, so posting my pictures was a lengthy process for me. I'll get more on tonight though!

Europ-a

My dearest, most darling Roo is dead set on taking me to Europe this January (as it is the very beginning of August and I only have 1.5 days of PTO left for the rest of the year... oops!). I'm thinking that if we are very serious about this it will probably be more like April, which will give me the chance to lose the 469 pounds that I want gone.

So, where should we go?! Roo was in the navy and has seen a lot of Europe, but the furthest from MN I've been is Cozumel Mexico for Spring Break (holla at cho girl Lex!). Let me know your suggestions!

Happy Hump Day

Is that not the creepiest picture of someone playing cards? I can't believe that I drew that... it's like a creepy doll with creepy curly yarn hair. Spooks!

Anyways- if it isn't already apparent, I am pee-my-pants excited for this weekend. I'm going to surprise the girlies by making homemade graham crackers and chocolate bars for smores. Cute right?? We'll see... I'll have to bring a box for back up. Anywho... I dont really have a list for this week other than packing and making the damn crackers.

Here's to hoping everything goes well!!

Where my Girls at?

You know those girlfriends that you've had since forever, leaving decades worth of laughter, tears, fights and hugs in a wake through your memory and heart? The ones who you can go years without talking to (but you never would) and that very next time you meet, the conversation continues as if it were never broken. Well those very girlfriends of mine and I are going away for the weekend and I couldn't be more excited!

As you may have guessed, I love nothing more than spending the weekend at the cabin and to do it with just the ladies is a dream! That's right... NO BOYS ALLOWED.

Is it Friday yet??
