In need of good Juju.

Roo and I need lots of help from the big guy and any prayers or good juju is welcome from you out there too. Our dream house, which once seemed to be in the palm of our hands feels to be floating farther away right now. The bank is being difficult (imagine that...), but as I said before, Roo and I know that good things come to those who wait and if this house doesn't go through, another will come our way.

We went on a date last night, which only reaffirmed my undying love for that man. The way that we can freely talk about our hopes, fears, loves, stresses, future and of course... Ancient Aliens (only the best series on the History Channel... dorks unite!) is invaluable. I was talking to my mom and it almost feels that this time we've had apart has really made us appreciate one another in a whole different way. We're dating again, but in a new way. He's truly, completely my best friend and I can't imagine a day without him.

mush, mush, mush! I'm a total nutterbutter, aren't I?!! One day I'm planning a murder, the next I'm gushing over my ooey-gooey love for Roo--- does this make me crazy?

Cinderelly Cinderelly...

I spent nearly ALL of Saturday cleaning our house and it was spectacular! I love that feeling of having a gloriously cleaned house without clothes strewn all over the place, dishes stacked high and smelly in the sink, and dog/cat toys torn to pieces making a graveyard out of our hardwood floors. It was so refreshing until I sat down on my couch last night after the long weekend and looked around.

GASP!

I swear someone broke into our house, made a bunch of food and piled the dishes in the sink, threw newspapers all over, and then ripped Winnie's toys to bits and left them dead-all over the house!

No... it was us- the outcome of a long, busy, fun, loverly, holiday weekend filled with Fairs, friends, Twins games, family and a whole lotta love and laughter.

Wish it could have lasted foooooor-ev-er! But alas...

ps... I took many many many many... perhaps too many... pictures both times we went to the fair and will hopefully post tonight (do remember... my house looks like an episode of Hoarders and needs to be cleaned first and foremost... sigh).

The State Fair-est of them All

Well it is that time of year again... State Fair Time! The Fair always signifies the end of one season and the beginning of another and since it's typically the last really, ugly hot week of summer, you just can't help to go celebrate the end of heat and humidity with all the fried food and beer one can consume.


Now, I have had a particularly long love affair with the State Fair. My parents and I have gone every year since I was about 3 and once I hit the "why are you treating me like a child I am now a teeeeenager" years, my friends and I would hop on the bus at Southdale and ride in. We used to take the bus all over the place (Southdale, friend's houses, Uptown) before any of us could drive, but that was when there were more buses going through Edina and parents didn't overcrowd their kids' schedules with sports and clubs and camps and we were really left to be just kids. BUT, I digress...


This year, I'll be making at least 2-3 trips to the great Minnesota get together- sad... yes, but it's a tradition I have held onto for ump-teen years and REFUSE to let it go :) These are a few things that I am excited for:
